You open your computer and check your e-mail. Surprise.. your e-mail account is full with spam messages some of them in bulk/junk folder and some of them in your inbox. You perhaps erase those from bulk/junk, but you have a look at those that are in inbox. After you see that all are crap and ordinary scams to get your money and your identity you erase them also. Next day the same thing happens.

After such days with e-mail full of unwanted messages you are asking yourself this simple question: how did they get my email? Now I’ll try to present some of the resources how they get your e-mail:
1. your e-mail address can be generated. The internet is a bigger resource and you can get for free or buy programs or software that can generate e-mail address.
2. your e-mail can be crawled. Like search engines which crawl the web for new content every second, there are also programs or spiders built in this purpose: to check the web for your e-mail address.
3. your e-mail can be bought. Yes can be bought. Just yesterday I saw someone on a forum who tried to sell a list of subscribers from this website.
4. your e-mail can be taken from another account. Let me explain you. You have a friend and you talk with him through instant messaging. If his account get’s hacked, all the e-mail addresses from his account will be spammed for sure.
5. if the bad guys hack or steal a database site and your e-mail is there then you will have a problem.
6. your e-mail can be hacked. Yes is right. Fraudsters have programs that try brute force to discover/crack your password, so my advise is to use strong passwords like something241@#! not like myname 1234567 or anything like that.
7.e-mail marketing or spam. If you subscribe to a newsletter, that webmaster can and maybe will sell some space in his newsletter to another webmaster which want to promote his service/product.

Those 7 ways to get your e-mail make your life harder. Maybe I forgot some of the methods to show you, but I will complete this post in a few days after a good research. Remember that your e-mail account is the easiest method to get to you, even is fraud scam or bulk email or newsletter, because all have the same purpose : to determine you to do something.

Be safe.
