Yes, SWINE FLU is a gold mine for fraudsters. The Better Business Bureau is warning consumers to be on alert and to try to avoid all the messages associated with this subject or content. Let me tell few methods used now applied to swine flu by fraudsters:

  • Phishing attempts
  • Malware and spyware infecting
  • Online car scams
  • Donations for the victims of swine flu

All these scams and methods are old, but with a new design and content associated with swine flu your chances to be scammed are increasing. Don’t believe any vaccinations or methods to protect yourself from swine flu. Also try to keep your computer up to date in order to be more secure.

I received a scam attempt based upon a for sale ad. placed on Craig’s list. someone
going by Bryon Rudd at Bryonrudd111@gmail.com wanted to buy the item with a cashiers check. supposedly he has health issues. He then e-maied me saying his bank had made the m.o. out for $2500.00. I should go ahead and deposit it, keep the $ for
the sale item, plus an extra $100.00 for my trouble. Of course the m.o. was phony. i would have been out over $2000.00 in this scam. Too bad someone can’t find this crook and give him his deserved reward. Craig’s list had an excellent warning re:
    this particular scam.
