A scam is when somebody steals your money and/or your identity. In the case the persons that used this email addresses are trying to steal your money.

She did give me a VIN number YV1CZ91H741082833.
CarFax says it’s from West Chester PA.
She is divorce with 2 kids but is too busy and out of town with work to meet with me.
And her English isn’t very English…

I responded to an add that appeared yesterday for a 2006 Ford Explorer. I asked for info and the reply came via e-mail from Kathleen McGeary, Wilmington. I thought it very strange that she was selling the car so cheap and she wanted my full name and address. I recognized this as a scam and did not reply. I then Googled the name and found this site.

Wow, I am so damn lucky today. I was on the way the to the bank to send $6,000.00 to kathleen11974@msn.com (Kathleen McGeary)for a 1965 Corvette Convertible. Just like the above people she says she is divorced with two kids and very busy with work to call. She also replied to me with another email address: pamtohome@aol.com. An Ebay representative contacted me vi email, whom stated Ebay would hold the “MoneyGram” until I received the car and was happy. Ebay emailed me back with confirmation. I feel so scammed and so very very thankful for finding this just minutes before sending the money.
In addition to the Kathleen McGeary scam for the Corvette I want to supply the info on the \ebay representative\ that I was supposed to send a money gram to. It is \David Carke, 125 Hamptom Road, Claxton, GA. The fax number he is using is 206-888-4929.

Same thing, send your full name & address & Ebay will send you an invoice – the car was unbelievably cheap with photos of a most excellent car – vin number included – shipping included – way to good to be true. I sent this person an email saying I know this is a scam, leave my daughter in law alone! They actually replied with a request for me to send in my full info so Ebay could send me an invoice! This is a scam!!!! Beware!!!

First, CL and Ebay are not affiliated. Never send a money transfer or money order. Second, If you can’t see it, touch it and drive it before hand, it has a very high probability that it is a scam. Another place to check out is craigslist list of known scammers.Right

Saying something about how it was so important for us to follow eBay’s protection plan and after he had my info eBay would be contacting me.I am still wondering what eBay has to do with cragslist LOL.
Just had dealings with sgtjblucas@gmail.com regarding the highlander on craigslist. They are good. I even received an authentic looking invoice from ebay motors vehicle protection program with instructions to put money in an England bank. I contacted ebay and they informed me that to make sure the email was legit to go to my ebay account and look under messages. It should post there and sure enough it wasn’t there. Ebay protects only cars with an active listing and that you pay through paypal. They do not hold money pending your inspection etc… I contacted the military base in England where this sgt supposedly worked. He is real but the scam is bogus. It has been an ongoing problem with the US soldiers in England and their identity theft. The Stars and stripes did a full article on the prob. Hope this helps someones keep their money!

I knew it was too good to be true, and the warning signs totally red flagged me when he responded to my questions about the car and didnt answer a single question, only asked me to start sending him my name and address. Says he’s from Billings, MT and will ship via DAS at his expense. Umm, to California that would be almost 1000.00. This was after I said I would fly there and pick it up myself at MY EXPENSE. LOL. Wow, like many I’m glad i decided to google “Kathleen Mcgeary” – i knew something was up but it’s so hard to resist looking into it!!
