How secure are your passwords?
How secure is your password?
Somebody said ” A good password is one that cannot be easily guessed.” I think this affirmation is wrong because a good password, in my opinion, is a password that nobody can crack it. As you can see in this label a good password must have at least 10 characters. So let’s try to see some tips on how you can improve your password.
1. At least 10 characters. A good tip, but to be more secure you can add easily 2-3 numbers or some special characters like !@#$%^& or something like that or you can use capitals like mYpaSSword.
2. Don’t use the same password. 95% of the people that use internet and have 2 or more accounts have the same password. Yes I`m right. How many of you have the same password for paypal account and email ?
3. Don’t use easy answer. Most of the email accounts or bank accounts have security questions like: What is your mom name? In which city do you live? or something like that. Most of the guys who try to get access to your account and try to guess your password will use this feature because if they know you a little they will know the answer to your security question.
Example: Q: What is your mom name?
A: Debra
But you can try this: Q: What is your mom name?
A: Jack (your father name)
4. Password can’t be the same as the account name. For example if your account is debrajack your password should’t be debrajack / debrajack12 or another combination because with the help of a brute force program this password can be guessed in no time.
5. Don’t use your SSN or DOB.
6. Good example of passwords : Just4myname! / ihatesomebody . Use your imagination and follow this steps and I assure you that nobody can hack your email with any method except phising.
Be safe.
