Fraud scam – New tactics used to scam people on used car auctions
In my earlier posts I showed people how they can discover fraudulent ads and auctions on used cars. The only problem is that some fraudsters have found the blog and they changed the method.
The big change that they made is the fact that the email isn’t anymore displayed in the add, so that it makes difficult for me to post it here and alert people about this ordinary scams.

Hey, i have been scammed a few weeks ago. A joseph cuthbert sold me a vw samba van. Also from spain and the bank account name was under the name of Vasile Laurentiu Laibar. Which is the same as the yahoo name in the reply of Dave. Now that we know this, is there any way we can get our money back, because punishing them is not enough for me! It pretty much went like dave said with the whole buying – selling – tracking info bs. But it’s not that they contacted me. I was actually looking for this vehicle and came on a belgian car buying site that had a vehicle for sale. So i mailed the owner and thats when it all went wrong i guess.
Damm I have one of this punks I believe.

Started on craigs list. Same as stated earlier. Claims to be a USAF Master Sergeant from Alaska and will ship an 2001 Jeep Wrangler to me from there for no additional charge. Craigslist was notified and he was removed but buyer beware to any other people out there.

I saw the same vehicle on Craigslist as well. I sent an email asking questions and he replied with the saame letter. I thought that I would Google his name Mark Bound, low and behold this came up and started reading. I guess the saying holds true, If it’s too good to be true it can’t be true.
Mark P Bound is still at it. I found a very nice 2001 Jeep wrangler that he was trying to sell with the exact same letter as written here on this site. I emailed hm with telling him I was interested and he sent me the same delivery terms as well. Thank you to every one who has written in here, I hope nobody gets scammed by this guy and I am going to email craigs list right now.
I’ve learned there are a lot of scumbags out there. Thankfully craigslist has a warning up on their site that all offers to ship cars are fradulent. I saw this Jeep posted for 3 different Ohio cities and a Michigan city. My favorite was the Jeep for sale in Cleveland. Photos had palm trees in the background. Careful, it’s a jungle out there folks. And remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it is!
Saw the ad on Craiglists for a Ford F-150 Truck from a USAF Sgt Justin Silva selling for $ 3,820 including shipping from Alaska to our home address. As the saying goes, it is sounds to good to be true, it is not…..beware, it’s a scam. Thank goodness for this website.

WE CAN STOP THIS DOUCHEBAG SCAMMER
I have seen this same ass hole scammer for years on CraigsList. I hate that he is using the US Air Force position as part of his scam and tricking a number of poor folks into sending their hard earned money. Since the law/police can’t stop him I think we should screw with him and maybe slow him down and frustrate the hell out of him.
My idea would be whenever you see one of these scams on CraigsList play along with him for just a little, making him respond to you but you email reply back to him with a LARGE photo file that will tie up his time and computer or flood his email with a bunch of non sense gibberish. I think he is sitting in a little cyber-cafe somewhere in Nigeria and he has to pay for his time on the Internet. Nigerian cyber-cafes charge an average of around $1 an hour. Join me and Declare WAR on these scammers and fight back or just have fun screwing with these douchebag scammers.

Remember, if a car is being offered at a lower price than its kelly blue book retail price, something’s wrong. Especially when it’s WAY lower then the KBB’s price.
However, I’m having a blast scamming back this con artist!! lol! I sent him an email with a phony picture of “my” family thanking him for the opportunity to own such a great van for my kids. He emailed me back with a link for to pay and told me that he’s a man of God and he enjoys doing good to people! (wow!…) Anyways, I’m in the stage of having “technical issues” when trying to pay him.

I feel like such an idiot. I save up on a car for 5 years, turn 16, and get scamed By “Maj.Anna P. Gordon in the US airforce, based in the UK” I just hope that the next person finds this website before they make the same stupid mistake as me.

I had the same experience but luckily caught on pretty quick, before giving anything away. Here is the second of three letters I got. BTW: Joshua Garcia has almost a dozen photo credits to his name, if you Google him. Walter Cronkhite would have been slightly more obvious.

Hi,
I can only use a phone for incoming emergency notifications and I can only call back. Only emergency calls are allowed,that would be hospitalization of a family member, death, etc… Aside from that I have my 1 hour every two weeks. I have access to e-mail but we are not allowed to make phone calls unless it is in the allotted time the military allows, as they listen to the calls. I hope you understand.
The payment will be made through eBay. I’m under Contract with eBay which states that we can close the deal using their service.Very Important, Only after you will receive the car, eBay will release the money to me.
The money will be sent per ebay instruction and you will give the payment details only to eBay. They will verify the payment and when the money are confirmed they will notify me to proceed with the shipping process. As a former USAF Guy, I can tell you all that NEVER is a car shipped on a cargo plane!! Think of the $$$ that would take. Should have been a red flag–sorry to all that lost money. These guys aren’t even in the military because they consistently list their name and rank in a non-military way, also.

As I’ve told you, at this moment I am in Alaska in a military base. I do a special training program each day and I am not allowed to get out of the unit or call whenever I want. The reason I’m selling this vehicle way below market value, is because I would like to help ease the burden of my sisters medical expenses, which she has acquired due to a serious illness.
The shipping will take 3 to 5 days and it’s not a problem because I will have the car shipped by an Air Force cargo plane so there won’t be any additional shipping costs. Also I will arrange for a truck to transport the vehicle to your home address. You will receive it along with all the documents including title, bill of sale, 2 set of keys, full service records and more. Because it is a large transaction, we will complete the deal only using an authorized third part like eBay because I already prearranged the whole process with them. The vehicle is located in their warehouse in Anchorage (sealed and ready for delivery). The money must be sent first to an eBay agent and will be kept safe until the buyer receives and inspects the vehicle. I will offer a 5-day period to inspect the car from the moment you receive it (and the option to accept or reject the vehicle on my expense), before I’ll have your money.
